Hi all,

To begin with, best wishes for 2014.

I am trying to make a drumloop using Cubase AI 5 and have found YT-videos using the Drum/Key Editor for that. So far all is okay but for whatever reason there is no sound using both editors. No tracks muted.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Either I have a stupid question or it's so complicated that none of you is able to help me.

In the meantime I have searched a lot of sites and tutorials but cann't find the right information.

So this is where I am now:

- Trying to make a drumloop I added a miditrack and opened the HalionOne VSTi.
- All Midi Inputs is set as 'in' and 1-HalionOne as 'out'.
- I enabled the trackmonitor
- When I hit the Virtual Keyboard the track mini fader responds accordingly, but nothing shows in the Transport Channel.

What surprises me is:
- HalionOne is activated but responds to nothing. In the browser window I only see GM Content and GM Drum Content (both boxes are checked).
Impossible to link the player to the content of GM.
- No sound through the Virtual Keyboard, Drum Editor, Key Editor.

Hopefuly it is clear that I am stuck and would like some tips/advice to be able to continue.

Well, I'm a noob too, so I might not be much help, but what are you using for your output ? Your computer speakers ? How did you set up VST connections and how did you add the output buss in Cubase ? I had problems with this myself. I was trying to run the output thru my interface using a USB. I didn't have the output device hookedd up and turned on and Cubase didn't see it, duh. Once Cubase saw my output device, I was able to get the driver to hook up to it, and things started to work.

Just some thoughts, though I am not much with MIDI...

Did you use the pencil tool to draw an event on the Instrument track? Also, once you opened HalionOne did you select a preset at the top? That is all I do in the infrequent times that I use it.

Hi DiscoJag

Thanks for your response.

I didn't set VST COnnections but checked them. What I see is: Devices (Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO) and Stereo left (Steinberg CI2-1), right (Steinberg CI2-2), which is what it should be.
My output device is HalionOne, right??

Hi jimmys69

Thanks for your response.

Yes I did use the pencil.
When I try to load my presets in HalionOne I see a box with: HalionOne > GM Content/GM Drum Content. Whatever I do nothing happens.

Still looking for a solution as you will understand.
