Very new to ableton live 12. I follow the tutorials on drum beats, I hear sound when selecting kit, I see a "bounce" on the levels when I have selected a drum kit. I arm and record the midi track and there is simply no sound from the drum beats that I see written in the clip display. Very frustrating. Seems like a setting is awry. I believe output is configured correctly as I can hear just about anything else. I have one live set that works that I wrote a week ago. New live sets where I follow the same steps do not provide sound from the drum beat even though the notes are present in the clip display.

Can you post clips of the Arrange Window and one of your settings for the track? Just to be clear - when you set the track up and when you record the track you can hear the drums? First I would see if the track has the drums on it - meaning you’ve chosen it as a sound source - Then I would make sure you don’t have record set for that track - then I would check if your file is corrupted - IOWs start a new file - put drums on it - and record - if it does the same thing - then perhaps It’s a setting.
