no sound input in Sonar

Hey Guys,
Just reinstalled sonar on new dell pc with win xp. Guitar is hooked through soundcard as a line in. I hear guitar fine through speakers, but can't record in sonar. I hit the record on a audio channel that is using Stereo SB Live! wave device input but nothing registers. Seems I may have had an issue like this before but can't seem to find the remedy.
 
you have got to follow the instructions when loading sonar,
check your soundcard settings, profile the audio card, select input/output devices for the card in the audio tab under options.
i do not have a sblive, but if you installed it you had better check which drivers you are using, windows 98 will not work,
i know that soundblaster has wdm drivers on their website for wndows 2000
 
make sure that your 'line in' is enabled/selected on your soundcard's mixer under the 'record' portion. By default it is not.
