I purchase a used HD24 an transferred 24 tracks of material from adat II machines. All tracks appear to be there due to all the meters move in sync with adats and on time, however there is no signal at the rear 1/4" outputs. I have all outputs connected to tape in's of a old school tascam recording mixer and can't figure out how to get the signal to the HD 24 outs. It's almost like the previous owner may have had it hooked up to a digital board or computer, and I need to some how switch back to analog out. Can someone please help! Thank you much. Toddyboy

Damn near every piece of gear out there has an PDF of its owner's manual online somewhere. I happen to know for a fact that this particular one is available for free on the Tascam website.

Tascam, Alesis...whatever.
Derp! Yeah, that one. :P

I have one. It's basically my AD/DA (via lightpipe to a Steinberg VSL2020 PCI card). I've never used it's hard drive, but I had to Google the manual to figure out how to get the combinations of analog and digital ins and outs that I needed.

I have one too. For me it's nothing more than a location recording device. I've never used the outputs, I just transfer recordings to the computer for mixing.

My mobile rig is a different computer with a Tascam US1641. This one is techichally mobile, also, but it sits in this absurdly heavy wooden DIY rack, and I refuse to lift it, so it stays in the studio.

Subscribing... As I recall there's only a few I/O monitoring options, maybe one that would prevent content on the drive to appear at the analog outs.
Said 'transferred 24 tracks of material from adats'. But 'tracks appear to be there due to all the meters move in sync with adats and on time'. Maybe you haven't transferred (recorded) the tracks into the HD24?
