No r0de at Mars. What gives?

After all the posts on the Rode NT3, I went to Mars Music to buy a pair for drum overheads. They looked at me like I wa crazy. Don't carry them. They had never heard of Rode. What the heck is this! Are these actually good mics or are they just talked up around this site.
 
there really good mics...I use the Rode NT3??I think...but anyway the people at mars are (looney) if you can go to a gutiar center all the ones I've been to the people will sit down and tell you everything you need to know...well thats my experence
 
well if they dont know RODE they dont know alot about mics, but I do know MARS doesnt typically carry them. Go to Guitar Center. THey have them. They will also match online prices. Especially MF since they own them as well.
 
True story EOS, recently aquired 'em I think.

I got an NT-1 from guitar satan and am very happy with it-great mike.
 
I went looking for a Rodent at Mars and they tried to sell me an Oktavia (wow,how could I turn it down?A $1000 mike for $200.Yeah,right...Slipshod QC and proprietary connectors dooms those guys, IMHO).They knew exactly what it was but they just don't carry any Rode mikes.They DID have a great deal last month on the AKG C2000 for $250,but I went to guitar satan and got the NT1 for two bills.
These Rode mikes are in the same quality catagory as AKG and way above those $200 Marshalls and Nadys etc. with the cheap Chinese capsule.

I had exactly the same experiance, asked two music stores including Mars about Rode (which I first heard about here) and they looked at me like I was from.... Mars.

My question is this - do they have a web site? I tried Rode.com and every combination I could think of and got nothing. Anyone know?
 
Thanks! I just checked out their site...

If I were looking for a Rode mic for vocals only, nothing else, what are your favorites between the NT1, NT2, NT3? I don't want to spend a fortune but I can spend a few hundred bucks.
