yes
does mesa not make any more rackmount heads any more? i'd love to get a dual rec in a rackmount, but it appears that they have not made them for years. why would they stop? i mean most professional rigs are all rackmounted.

They don't make the old school black face Dual Rec, anymore that I'm aware of. But you can usually find one on e(vil)Bay. They do, however, make a rectifier recording preamp, which you could pair with a power amp of your choice.

And I wouldn't say that most professional rigs are rack mounted. Amp heads in an ATA case, yes. I would say that is quite a bit more common than having everything rack mounted. Me, personally, I have my amp head in an ATA case below an 8 space rack. LOTS of other touring bands use this method as well.

I got a rack mounted Triaxis unit from Ebay... pretty sure Mesa are still making them but that's about it on the rack gear from them as far as I know...

i belive i am going to just get an ata case with rackspace built in, because i read the rackmount heads are out of production, on the boogie website.

Like mentioned above, Mesa does still make a rackmount Triaxis preamp and Rectifer recording preamp that can be paired with a rack mountable power amp. Also like mentioned above, rack mount heads are certainly not the most common amongst the "professional rigs". In the more than 1000 bands that I have worked with, probably 1 in 30 guitar rigs used rack mounted heads. Many of those acts were even large touring bands whose guitar rigs were certainly "professional" ;)
