Has anyone noticed you can't monitor through the effects that came with the 5.1 upgrade ? I'm not using Cuebase but Nuendo, tried loading the tube plug wanted to try it on my guitar .... bummer .. added it to a recorded track ... another bummer ... "tubes" my ass .. doesn't sound tubed at all :(

software tubing is lame... trying to digitally add analogue qualitys is kindof a stupid idea anyway isn't it?
some of the tube plugins even cost money..
I'm not sure i dare download the upgrade myself.. usually upgrades mean nothing but trouble to me..

You are absolutely right Chriss, I just had to try it out. But that monitoring issue is a prob with the rest of the plugs too ( I've only tried a filterthing, so I'm guessing about "The rest" and should probably test it before whining  )
major mistake in my opinion. I can monitor through all my DirectX and Nuendo effects, it must be/ought to be possible to do with the new ones too

I'm quite sure monitoring like that is too demanding for my machine so i don't really know how it works :D

I checked out "datube" first thing--added it to my guitar on 2 while rehearsing over a melody on 1...at first I heard nothing--not even my guitar...so, I instinctually turned up the 'monitoring level' knob on the motu (which was at zero--cause I don't normally use that bus), and sure enough there I was--but the signal didn't sound like it had been processed thru the "datube" algorhythms...it sounded the same as it did earlier--dry--when it appeared on the bus I had it set for...then, a few minutes into listening critically, the damn thing (mono) decides to ignore the mono "split" (so that I could hear it bilaterally thru the headphones) and rested only in my left ear...I say it at least fails the "ease of use" test....it's actually very strange--why would a new CuBase effect find it's way "home" to my motu's "Monitor Level" bus...equally inexplicable is--why would it then "settle-in" on only the left side of my phones?...and further more, why does it appear to not have any "effect"?...I think I'm missing here, and it probably doesn't have anything to do with 5.1... got any ideas?
