NiMH batteries

I do not yet possess an MR8, but I was wondering if any of you have had success with Nickle Metal Hydride batteries in the MR8. Would the 1.2 (rather than 1.5) volt rating of these rechargeable batteries cause any problems with the operation of the MR8?

Just based upon what I've heard, battery operation tends to eat the battery power rather quickly. I've never tried it. Others have. I would like to know as well, from those of you who have actually done it.
