Nick Drake Place To Be (Test)

Just a test preparing for the real cover. I didn't have strings on my Martin, so I had to us the old plywood guitar for this. Please, try to bear the chimey and clunky guitar. I tried a few different things with this recording and I like the various nuances I added. Of course, this is my own interpretation of the song. Anything I can improve on- structuraly?

Good, emotional vocal!
Big Nike Drake fan, and I think this is good. I'd shoot for more clarity in the guitar playing. The strings sound jumbled. I rarely record acoustic guitar so I'm not sure what tips to give for that. The line "When the day was done" is at the bottom of your vocal range and sounds a little weird.

I don't know Nick Drake - but this was good. Yeah, a more professional quality recording would be nice. Good vocal, great tone. Fix that guitar up and let's hear a real recording of it. nice work

oh he's fascinating. the mood of his songs and complex fingerstyle.

this is interesting, too, that he was a complete commercial failure in his lifetime:

Even this figure is conservative, as the US statistics, from Nielsen SoundScan, only go back to 1991. In reality, Drake has probably sold 300 times more units dead than alive.
