So brand new to this board and now looking for help. I have been recording for a while now but just recently bought an interface (presonus). This is a game changer for me due to the quality that I can generate. I am using fruity loops. I know everyone seems to use it but I really like the plugins mainly the virtual ampe . So here are my problems and questions:

1) I need a converter for mp3 to MIDI. This is for drum tracks I already have recorded.
2)My interface seems to "bog" out. While recording it will just muffle out.(guitar) This could be software or its most likely my hardware (hp pavilion g series)
3)I would like to find a better DAW, one that has a virtual amp plugin

I am recording Guitar and vocals btw.

Thanks
FAB

1) not sure that exists... You can trigger a sample 'via' midi but converting MP3 to Midi?!

No.

2) go to the Presonus website... Check you have the most up to date drivers installed. Maybe reinstall them if you have...

3) most of the top end DAW's (I count FL in this list) have fairly similar features... Workflow is the difference...
I use an old pod for the most part - sometimes 'guitar rig' but I mostly track my instruments into Maschine and then treat them like samples to build a track.
I use Studio One (pro v2), Cubase and recently downloaded Reaper (quite impressed with it).
Reaper is dirt cheap and the user support is vast...
S1 is solid and easy to work...
Cubase 'can' do it all...

As the previous poster says, you can convert your drum sounds to samples and then use MIDI to trigger these samples in FL.

I'll stress that I'm not a Fruity Loops user, but I found this video that might answer your question:

Good luck.
