currently i have a pc ,tascam 8ch mixer ,gina card a marshall 67, b1 (i know iknow) 57 and a few more assorted mics and a vx2000 berry as my basic recording setup. i am looklng to upgrade my board amd maybe my sound card. i do mostly hip hop and rnb. my questions are which would be the better to add to my setup 1 tascam dm24 ,2 roland vmc7200 (i like the number of inputs) ,3 01v or 4 a delta 1010 or (like card with 8 or more inputs any suggestions?)with a allen heath mix wiz or m12 i was also thinking about a tac scorp. 24 that i seen on ebay. ive worked on the 32 and loved the warmth when matched with a good soundcard. and yes i will need the 8 inputs.
 
Seems to me that you have all the key elements to be able to record just fine on your computer. A Gina is a wonderful card, your mixer is going to do its jb fine. Unless you are at some sort of impass where you cant get the things done you want... you have the tools you need to begin many solid projects.
 
true but i looking for more inputs on both the board and sound card
 
I have an M-1516 so I know exactly what you are using. Your console is exactly half of mine.

Have you looked at the M-1600 or M-2524? Both very good at excellent prices right now.

Plenty on e-bay to go around. Typically around $475-$800.
 
i ve worked on the m3700 and i liked the sound. i dont know if i would get a bigger version of my board. what sound card are you using?
 
things have changed abit i got a hold of a src series allen heath 16 ch but with every great deal comes a catch it doesnt have a power supply what can i do ihave already called allen heath but i want other options like maye i can adapt another power supply to work or build one if anyone has any ideas let me know thanks in advance.
 
If still available, what are they charging for the power supply? Must be pretty high.

If you can get a schematic of the power supply you could build your own.

Be careful using an off-the-shelf model. All power supplies are not created equal.
 
i have no clue of what it might cost ive emailed a&h in england and the states to find out but i only paid 75.00$ for the board.
 
YEah, I know what you mean. It's like paying $500 for a really nice car only to find out it need a $1000 overhaul (your labor), brakes, and exhaust.
 
but if you only paid 1500 for it and it was worth 2000 or 3000 wouldnt you say it was worth it? and what off the shelf power supply models were you refering to?
 
Yeah, then it would be worth it. Why sweat it then? Just get the manufacturers power supply if it's still available. If you have to spend $100-300 bucks for a power supply, it would still be worth it based on what you said the value of the console is.

I was refering to power supplies that will appear to work correctly based on voltage and current capability. Some devices require a positive and a negative voltage as well as a pair of grounds. I don't have a clue what you might need. It was just meant as a heads up.
 
thats what im worried about if they still make them thats why iwas looking for other optionsbut im not worried about paying that much for it because of what i paid for the board
