Hello all. Just wanted to post a song a friend and I wrote together and hear people's thoughts on it.

Thanks to whoever listens.

I thought the drums sounded pretty good.

The guitars were a little on the cloudy side. A bit thick in the low mids and lacking a bit on the upper end.

Bass sounded pretty good.

There is a guitar that comes in about :45 on the right. It's getting dominated by the other guitar. there is a lead guitar that comes in a little later. It could come up a bit too.

Generally well played, but I caught a couple spots where the groove got off between the guitar and drums.

I would echo everything TripleM has said. It has got a good groove to it. Just needs a tighten it up and get a bit more tone to the guitars.

Hey there, too bad there's no vocal on this. Seems like background music for a TV show. Did you use preset guitar sounds on this? Sounds a bit incomplete. Decent background music.

Thanks for listening! I'm going to re-record this soon and I'll take your comments into consideration. I have the lead guitar level where it is because I didn't want to drown out the rhythm guitar, but the consensus seems to be that the lead needs to be louder.

How would you recommend getting more tone from the guitars? Just adding more high end as TripleM said? I ask because I'm fairly new to recording and have always had trouble getting good guitar tones. It's hard for me to get sufficient high end without sounding tinny, and decent low end without sounding muddy.

I used a preset for the lead, however the rhythm guitar was my own rig. I haven't planned any vocals for this track yet, not a singer or a lyricist. Any suggestions on what could make the song sound "complete" without vocals?

I would love to hear an organ come in somewhere near the middle or toward the end of the song. Something sort of Al Kooper inspired. Just in case you are a young person, that is Al Kooper not Alice Cooper.
