Just had to add my 2cents worth.
As so many have so eloquently said, --- This is home recording
I strictly do this as a hobby. I have no delusions of grandeur.
I compare it to my hobby of golf, which I dearly love. You cannot "buy a game" but I like to add new clubs now an then for the fun of it.
I work at it, practice, and learn what I can from people much better that me. I have no delusions of ever playing championship golf, nor do I have any delusuions of cutting a song that will be heard on radio.
But I sure do get a thrill out of breaking 85 once in a while on the golf course, and that even 80 last year really rang my chimes.
So I lurk here, ask qestions, try to get better as a psuedo sound engineer and have a blast. And a few songs that I have done to my wife sound like grammy winners!! and for me that's why I do it.
I play gof for that magic day I break 80, (Maybe this year) and those few great shots. No one is in the gallery, just a few freinds to enjoy it with. I'm no Tiger nor will I ever be.
I write songs, and work at getting bettter at recording for the same reason, that one song that came together just right. (Then try to get the next one better.)
It's just a hobby.
It's nice to hear others say the same thing
