Hey everybody, I just found the group and thought I'd ask for a little help. I just bought an electric guitar and amp, but when I crank up the reverb there's an annoying buzz. This is no problem when I'm playing really loud (b/c the buzz gets drowned out), but when I tone it down to record onto my 4-track the buzz is unbearable. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do you only get the buzz when you turn on the reverb?

Is the buzz constant or only when you play the guitar?

Does the buzz get louder as you turn up the volume?

Do you think you could have blown the speaker?

Cheers
Kevin.

Oops, I mean to say gain, not reverb. The buzz gets louder when I turn up the volume, and it is constant (not just when I play the guitar). I only get the buzz when I turn up the gain. I think my main mistake was plugging the amp directly into the 4-track (I told you I was new at this) instead of using a mic. When I use a mic the guitar drowns out the buzz.
