OK, this is going to sound really dumb, but I have to ask. I've been researching the Roland UA-100 because the USB connection will enable me to use my very powerful laptop as a portable recording studio. Here's what I dont' understand:

All the info I've been able to find on the Roland USB stuff indicates you would plug instruments directly into the UA-100. I want to record through a 16-Channel mixer into my computer. Can I do it with this Roland product? If not, what's the BEST way for me to go.

Thanks!

J.

No doubt it has line level inputs and maybe one or two of them have preamps so you could use them to connect practically anything. No reason why you couldn't go through a mixer first.

UA-100 info

I am considering a UA-100 for a similar application and would appreciate any info you can share about your experiences, problems etc that you would be willing to post. Thanks in advance
