(Newbie) MIDI problems in Sonar

Hi guys! Having a few issues with getting MIDI to work properly with Sonar. Actually works ok for about a minute (varies), then I seem to get a 4 second delay (4000ms latency!) from when I press a key to it getting acknologed. Because this happens only in Sonar, and it happens fairly randomly I am guessing this is a wierd buffer problem? Anyone else with similar problems or any ideas?

My system: PIII-500, 80Gb HD, 128Mb RAM, SBLive!, Casio CTK-571

Hi there! and welcome to the HR BBS.
I have had similar problems with similar equipment and got the issues resolved with proper drivers. I am using a sb Live and winXP on an Athlon 1.3 with 512 mg ram.
Are you trying to play the sounds of the casio thru sonar, or are you using the casio to control the soundblaster synth? What type of OS are using?
One option is go to options>audio>advanced and select wdm drivers instead of mme. That helped with latency on my rig.

Yup, Welcome to the board.
I also believe it's the driver thingie. What's your current driver ? Try Microsoft instead Creative's...
