Dear guys:

I was having problem with choosing a monitor with low budget.

Apparently, around hong kong, there are places which sell used hi fi products, and I always go there to wonder around and see if they would have some stuff that are suitable for building a set of gears for doing my soft synth and sequencer thingy. I've now got my korg emx groovebox (the one with tubes) and the computer running reason2.5.

I own a pair of sony 7506 studio monitor headphone and I knew I shouldn't rely on it solely (but I'm not sure about the main reason) so I was looking around for a pair of studio monitor. I can see the used JBL proIII or something like this http://hk.f2.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/b3777896

and Bose monitor (so-called) like this
http://hk.f2.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/b3717008

at about 130usd and some bigger Bose like this
http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/1111131800?aucview=search

or

http://hk.f2.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/b3709214?aucview=search

for 200usd.

I've never listened to them yet, but I've tried the roland cube, they are tiny ans seemed like good sounding, but I'm not sure about how others think of it.

Will it be ok to get any of these or bose and jbl are just plain hi fi stuff that won't translate the sound well?

Thanks a lot!

p.s. all those hi fi sellers seemed not understanding what a monitor speaker is, and selling me the hi fi stuff which packed with lots of mids in it, what a pain in the ass.

Looking forward to your reply!

also, long time ago, I've seen an ad of protools LE displaying a pair of blueroom minipod with the m box and a system running protools, does it mean minipod can be one of the choice as a monitor too?

Sorry for dumb questions.

Thanks!
