Hi all,
Totally newbie to the Home Recording scene. I bought a Lexicon Alpha which came with Cubase 5 LE and all set up correctly I think, but I am having some problems with playback.
I have set the driver as the Alpha ASIO (the USB unit's specific driver) but that then doesn't give me an option to use my PC's onboard soundcard to output the playback, only the Alpha Unit which is causing a few problems.
Am I right in assuming that this is normal? I can use the Windows Generic ASIO driver and then I can select the Alpha Unit as input and my PC's onboard soundcard as the output, but the Cubase manual states you should use the USB devices drivers where ever possible.
What would you guy's recommendation be - use the Lexicon Alpha's drivers in Cubase, or use the Windows Generic Drivers? Would there be any problems using the Windows Generic Drivers?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
