Hey Guys :) So a long time lurker first time poster here. I decided to go into home recording after 8 years of playing piano and guitar,
so I would like you to see the gear I have (or is on the way) and what I want to do with it and any advice on how to do it better would be VERY much appriciated :)

Gear:
HP Probook 4510s
Reaper DAW
Presonus Firebox
Guitars, Basses
Mic: Audio Technica AT2020
Midi keyboard
FCB1010 (for controlling Mobius)

What I want to do with the gear:

Well I love EVERYTHING by Constelation records, I have been trying to record with my bandmates a few times but because of
the difference of the music we like we couldnt do anything together so I decided im going to play and record everything by myself.

I want to record my ambient ideas (listen to GY!BE, Silver Mt Zion, anything by constelation records) so I have been reading a lot
and decided to use Amplitube3 and Mobius as my base because there is a lot of looping in my ideas.

So guitar into firebox into laptop, fcb1010 into firebox, midi keyboard into laptop through usb and recording somehow. Now I still have to learn to do stuff in Reaper in Mobius so if any of you know how and would like to help a newbie out I would be gratefull.

I would love to use FCB1010 to loop in mobius and to controll the loops, (if possible) to engage some software based effects (mostly delays, reverbs, modulation and stuff, and btw which of the free VST reverbs and delays are best for ambiance?) and to start/stop recording in Reaper. Is that possible?

I would use guitar and bass as main instruments and use the midi keyboard for piano, violin, samples.

So what do you think? Any Advice? any1 with a simmilar setup to help me out? :)

TNX GUYS.

Ivan from Croatia

tnx for the welcome and advice guys :P

Well I can say welcome Ivan but I cannot offer any advice. Neither I think will anyone else!

I reckon your post is just too manic and all over the shop. Folks here can only really handle a question at a time. "can I control X via Y with Z " end of.

Such general ramblings such as yours tend to make people glaze over and move on!

Sorry mate but that's how I see it. As THE man said "Calm down dear!"

Of course Forums and the infernalweb being what it is, ten people will now crash in and engage you in meaningful disscusion and make me look a t***t!

Dave.

Um, make it sound good? One suggestion I have is, if you don't have a treated room, pick up the sE Electronics reflexion filter. It makes all the difference in the world.

Sounds like you've got it figured out. There's not much anyone else could suggest. Start recording then if you have specific questions someone might be able to help.

Welcome to the site.

NOt really familiar with any of this gear and Constellation records, but I'm assuming you'll want to integrate a mixer in front of the mic for wiring in mic, and line inputs where needed.
