I just finished building a system for my brother. He is a musician.
We are having a slight problem with getting the inputs to work properly.

He has the DMX 6fire 24/96 by TerraTec. While outputting sound through the front jacks everything is fine. It is while trying to input sound that the problems occur.

Using the supplied control panel program and making sure the levels inside of Windows are up has not seemed to help.

Is there something else I could be forgetting?

I know this is a broad question, I just needed ideas or someone else who has the card to tell me the step by step they use to record in through the card.

The system itself is:

AMD 1500+ XP
Windows 2000
1GB DDR RAM
64 MB Radeon Video Card
80 GB Maxtor 7200
Sony CRX195A1 40x/12x/48x Internal Atapi CDRW Drive
and the DMX 6fire 24/96 by TerraTec.

Thanks in advance for any leads!

followup

Still looking for some help from anyone with this same card.
I am wondering if I have something incorrectly switched or if this same problem has happened to anyone with this card.

I am doing okay with all the rack inputs except for the LINE IN.
The light on the front that should be lit, signaling that a jack has been inserted and detected is not coming on. As well, it is not recording IN via the LINE IN jack.

Once again, thanks for any help with this!

I have a Terratec card, but I don't know anything about the version you have so I can only make a guess...

Is it possible that the line in is disabled when the other inputs are enabled and vice-versa? It works that way with the inputs on my card...

just a stupid guess to try & get the ball rolling.

I have gone through the WINDOWS properties for sound, you know the little speaker icon in the bottom right... and clicked LINE IN for my choice of recording input.

I thought that may be the correct one, evidently not.

In the actual TERRATEC CONTROL PANEL, the software that comes with the card...I chose LINE IN as well.

Still no go.

Thanks for replying!
