Wow... This is really incredible.

I have some very tiny nitpicks...
the acoustic start... sound very piezo to me and not organic.

Other than that... my hat's off to you. Very professional sounding work. radio ready.

Oh yeah... I love the panned guitar with the wah!

Hey, it must be "songs for daughters" week! I just posted a song I wrote for mine.

This is a very impressive composition and recording. Very nicely balanced. I love how the track builds. The only constructive criticism I have is that after the drums come in, the vocal gets hard to hear - at least to my ears.

I LOVE when the big harmonies come in. Also love the change to a major key near the end.

Again, very very nice work.

Wow, this is amazing. Incredible. You really have talent. The mix is great too. You're going places.

I agree the vocals fade a bit when the drums come in. I think you may have too much compression going on there. Some of the drum parts don't seem to suit the song, the tone is good but not the patterns.
Vocals are fabulous, writing is top notch, mix (other than vocals) seems complete. This has a great vibe to it as others have mentioned...:D:cool::D

Thank you guys so much for the feed back. Ill fix the vocs on that part and then re-post. once again thanx for the feedback!!!!!:p

You are right about the guitars....I usually mic but got excited and impacient and just recorded direct. Ill mic the acousitic then repost and maybe it will sound better. Sound to robotic as it is. No character.

Nice work metaljoseph!
I agree with the others, the vocal needs to be brought out more. It seems to lack presence overall to me; I had a very very hard time understanding the lyrics. The vocal just seems buried. Sounds like yu may have some auto-tune on your vocal.. if that is the case, and you are worried about that coming out in a more out-front vocal, just turn down the settings a bit. You have a great voice, no reason to bury it! Serious dude... let it out there!
Very nice electric guitar sounds you got going... what is the signal chain on that, if you don't mind sharing?

Peace!

For the electric guitar I ran my Jackson into a cheap Behringer D.I. box then direct into my digi 002 mixer. I used Guitar Rig 3 for the distortion.
Drums are played by my brother and then I used drumagog to sample. Steven Slate Samples to be exact.

If you get the chance, I'd love to know what you were using for mics on the drums - the drum tracks sound so professional.

Actually the mics I used were pretty terrible. Audix fusion overheads Audix fusions on toms, MXL 993 /hi hat,Audix I5 on snare, Shure Beta 52 on kick,
Blue bluebird for room mic. The key is getting drumagog with Steven Slate Samples. Ever since I got this set up, the quality of my recordings improved tenfold. Go to the steven Slate website to listen to the samples. Wear a diaper because you might crap yourself.lol

This sounds amazing. The song itself is written really well and I like how it flows into a nice big sounding ending, and the harmonies are great.

Good work man!

this sounds fantastic. Which specific Slate Samples are these? Please also post it in Steven Slate's forum over at his site
