Newbie Cubase help!

Sorry if this has allready been asked but ive searched the forums and couldnt find anything with my particular problem.

I am new to Recording and have started using Cubase SX 3. The only problem I am having is with the drum map in the program. I do not have a midi keyboard at the moment so i am having to put the drums in using the mouse which is fine. but when i click the drum sound that I want there is no sound from the drum track its self. and once i play the track after making it there is still no sound. Sorry if i havent explained things very well but could do with some help with this please!

What drum VST are you using? You have to route the midi you are creating to an instrument that will play the sounds.

You need to set the midi track to output to the appropriate vsti. There's an 'output' pulldown on the midi track settings, that says which vsti the midi will be playing. It sounds like you haven't selected your drum synth. Or you have it muted or something silly..
