Newbie Building studio Help plz!

Hi everyone! this is my first post on this forum which i luckily came accross.

i am very new to home recording, and i need help choosing a setup, i need to know what 12+ channel mixer to buy with what soundcard, do any come with soundcards, and how much does this mixer interface with recording software (that is, do diffrent tracks on the mixer go through to diffrent tracks in the software or does it all record onto one track)

i have a 1000 euro budget, any information would be greatly appreciated

I was sixteen when i started homerecording as well. Anyways. I wouldn't by a mixer if i were you. If you need to record a whole band and are on a budget i would get. 1000 euro= 1280.7 US dollar.

Delta 1010lt sound card= 200 used
2xsm57's (snare,close mic guitar, hi tom)= 150 used
ATM25 (lo tom)-70 used
Beta 52- 150ish used (kick)
Mxl 603s matched pair- 200 new (OH and acoustic)
SM pro audio pr8 with black lion mod-375 new
shure ksm27- 250 used
cakewalk homestudio-100$
and then get some more money for some halfway decent monitors.

at least that is what i would do.

PCI is a defunct standard. Don't buy a PCI interface.

Here's my advice:

1. If you don't need a mixer, don't buy a mixer at all.
2. If you do need a mixer, Peavey PV14.
3. You can generally tap individual channels via inserts on mixer channels, or you can record the mixer's output and get it all on two channels. So the answer to whether it will appear on separate tracks or not is "depends on how you wire it in."
4. FIRESTUDIO. In terms of bang for the buck, it sounds best for what you're trying to do. Skip the mixer and just use that. Or combine that with #2 and have a truckload of audio inputs.

slow down take a deep beadth and put your money away..(for now) you made a good choice finding a joint like this... the first thing you want to decide on is your software/platform are mac/win ? every question youve asked and more already exist in the forum somewher... do a search... see woh's had problems with which interfaces and which software and the drivers oh my the drivers... get my drift... some slow searching is your best bet... good luck...

could you explain this a little better please? would this give me seperate tracks in the DAW for each channel i have in the mixer?

wat we have

like i said earlier were in a band together,

we already have 4 mic's 2 seinsiher and 2 shure
we got a full set of drum mics amps pa all that
so the 1000 euro is sorta dedicated to the mixer....that is ifwe can get one for that....

its an M-audio interface which is great because were trying to build a studio that other bands will actually want to record in, however before we take the plunge id like to know,
1. would i be able to monitor the signal through the M-audio itself?

2. does it connect directly to the PC or do i need anything "in Between" them?

3. any downsides to using this over an analouge mixer through a soundcard interface
