Newbe needs help with drivers!!

I am looking for advise on how I can use my Roland SC-88 Pro sound canvas module with Windows 7 64 bit. I have a USB to serial adapter but I can't find any drivers for the module. When I plug it up to USB my computer sees the USB adapter but not the module. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know for sure on the windows end, but if I were to be hooking that up on my mac, I would either run the stereo outs through separate in channels on my audio interface, our use the midi out to the computer.
 
midi only sees the ports on the computer, not the attached device.

you will not see a 'Roland SC-88' but only the port.

(midi was designed in the 1970s and devices were not intelligent enough to identify themselves on the data chain)

Send data to it, if the adapter is working it'll send to the device.
