hi,
I also posted this question in the newbie forum, but then i thought there might be more people here who could help...
i'm really new at home recording, so maybe this is a stupid question or i am just retarded, but i haven't been able to figure it out on my own.
when recording in cakewalk (pro audio9) the armed track not only records the current line in, but also any other tracks that are playing back at the time of recording. so i end up with a muddy track that blends the new audio with all previously recorded audio. does this make sense?
I know about the sound on sound options, etc if you are recording over a previously recorded track--but this is happening when recording into an empty track.
the only way i can get a track to record with nothing on it but the "line in" instrument is to solo the track during recording but then i can't hear the rest of the music i am playing along with. any suggestions?
btw, i'm using a creative audigy2 sound card.
thanks for any help you can offer,
