New thing I've been working on. It's really a bed for vocals but it will have to do as an instrumental for now. Just did the drums an hour ago so they might be a little hot in the mix. Let me know what you think about the mix, tones, arrangement etc. Thank you for listening!

Recorded using an rme fireface 800 into pro tools-the drums are midi so its always tricky to make them sound real.

I like this tune - it's almost a little 'proggy' dare I say it :-) The drums are probably a little bit hot in the mix. I always like your guitar tones. I would probably push the bass a little - but I am in a bass pushing mood....

I liked it. It sounded like prog rock to me too. I didn't hear any odd meters or anything, but the instrumentation and the mixing reminded me of 1970s YES, King Crimson or Gentle giant. It has a vintage feel to it. Sounds nice. The drums sounded real to me, but they sound like an older recording where they aren't as in your face as modern albums. That's fine IMO.

Chuck-Thanks for saving me from page 2-More bass! Thats doable. Yes I think the organ is what gives the prog feel, one of the nicer features of pro tools is the hammond emulator it comes with it.

Chandler-Thanks for your time and comments-I'm very happy if I can get that 70's sound, I use a a plug-in called the "vintage warmer" on most of my final mixes and it does just that. The drum part was played by me on a cheap midi kit into "addictive drums" and fixed up a bit (alot), i'm not a drummer so i'm pretty happy with the drums on this.

I think this is the best one of yours I've heard thus far. The drums sound pretty cool, especially considering how they were done, but I think they might be a tiny bit too prominent in this mix maybe? Electric guitars sound really good. Bass seems pretty good. Wish there were vocals, but pretty interesting even without.
