Motu just announced that they already have the winXP approved WDM drivers ready. According to the site, they plan to release them the day that XP ships, and they mention Sonar on the announcement (a competitor, of all things)... hopefully that means Sonar is gonna run strong on XP, like win2K, without a bunch of hoopla. There are still tons of people trying to make WDM work right on win98, too. I havent heard anyone having much luck with that, since I don't think its SUPPOSED to work with 98.
Since XP will be handling enhanced dual cpu support, and the drivers are starting to happen faster and better, well... its time folks! :) Start saving for all your upgrades!
Lets see, thats dual cpu's, a dual motherboard, a Motu 1224, and a second monitor... for Christmas.

Yep.

WDM, Win98 and reverb for midi tracks

Tubedude,
Do you know if anyone has had any luck with WDM drivers for Win98 and could this be why reverb is not available to me for my midi tracks?
I really am wondering if I should try these drivers or if I'm just looking for trouble in Win98? Or if anyone has tried the EMU APS drivers?

I'm sorry if I'm missing something very basic but Ijust want to throw some reverb at my snare and some horns and I can't seem to find anything that clearly addresses it.

System: PIII 900, 512R, onboard SB Live Plat running Sonar

Intresting note is that in the SB Audio Envirorment the Reverb will not allow me to assign a controller.

sorry i can't help with your reverb problem. you can use wdm drivers with win98se not first edition. the only problem i've had is that sonar won't see more than one input format at a time. in other words using wdm with sonar and my motu i can't use the spdif ins and the analog ins at the same time. i have a lucid ad so when i use it via the spdif inputs i am limited to recording only 2 trks at a time.if i use mme drivers all the motu's inputs are available. handy for recording live , drums , keyboards, bass, 10 inputs simultaneously. that said win2000 and xp are still the best way to go for sonar

hey jjazz,

Maybe I misread, but are you trying to apply an audio-effect (reverb) over a midi-track? Cause that would never work (right?)
You would have to convert your midi-track to audio, to be able to apply reverb to it. Slap me on the wrist if I'm wrong.

will xp home edition support dual processors? the comaprison guide on microsoft's homepage lists "Scalable processor support – up to two-way multi-processor support." and says only xp pro will support this. does that mean more than two processors or some variation of multiple processors or what? will xp home edition support the dual processors?
