J to the R O C
Hey I posted this a few weeks back with my shoddy vocals. I got a buddy to sing it - he wanted me to record it in the first place - and I think it sounds alright. Maybe you guys culd give it a listen? Apologies if you've been through this process before! Its a cover of U2's 'All I Want Is You'

Sounds pretty good to me...I like the slight rasp on the vocals...gives it a unique sound. Overall sound is good to me...I'd almost try bringing the music up a bit in realtionship to the vocals, but that might kill the intimate effect.

Well done really.

Thanks Dogman. The rasp is there because the guy has very little control over the vocal dynamics. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's not.

Very nice work. VERY intimate.
have you run this through a de esser? It's only the first few phrases that need it.
The rasp makes it real.

will do thanks ray!

Very nice feel all around. The vox have a real nice room sound. Sounds like there's a lot of emotion and like Ray said, intimacy. There are few moments where I agree about the vocal dynamics, maybe try a volume envelope over the vocal track to lower the spikes you don't want there. Everything else feels laid back and smooth, good work. Cool harmonica parts too ;)

Nice sound on the acoustics. Actually all the instruments sound nice. The vocal sound is nice too, except it seems there's a slight slapback delay maybe that seems a little distracting and slightly cheap to me maybe.

The vocals sound pretty good to me most of the time, but to be honest I really don't like the way he sings "cradle to the grave." It sounds like he's saying "cratle," and it just bugs me! Just one of those things.

Anyway, all in all a nice job!

Cool...the vocals I copied and added a small amount of verb to one track, it is really just to stop things being too gruff sounding. Thank alot though.

Hey Tele, knowing the guy you were working with, I'd say you did well getting him to sing as coherently as he did.

Haha! Poor Jack! He's a good singer, just needs practice with vocals.
