I've been remixing a few tunes lately, listening, changing, relistening. I've done some subtle changes with Sonar plugins and eq's, mixing them completely in the computer. I'm feeling more comfortable in that domain. There's a few specific areas I'm wondering about but I'd like to hear what others think before I mention them. I'd like to get some feed back on the mix/levels/eq/etc. so I know whether I'm moving in the right direction.

This one's called Summer Love...

Ok, first you've gotten ripped since I was last here. And younger!

Dude, that solo is just right for the song. Very cool. Is this still yer Ibanez? My Ibz is kinda pissing me off. It's not what I expected. But yours sounds just the guitar for your songs.

I'd recommend lowering the rhythms 5-10db, raising the vox by 2dbs. Snare maybe raise a few dbs. Of course, slight bass boost, but it's right for adult contemporary. It's my metal preference that likes bass boost. It's probably fine.

I like this song, it's pretty cool. :) Summer's gone .

Thanks Bubba - I appreciate the details which will help with my mixing! Using my Strat for this solo... :)

Strat, you say? I was thinking of the Ibanez for the rhythm but hadn't thought about the solo.

I realized that my Fender sounds better for Metal tone generation with the Death metal Pedal than the Ibanez does. I sort of sounds sweet. But I know a lot of Metal heads and shredders use Ibanez. Oh well.

I was thinking of buy another guitar. But I guess 3 is enough. Now I must first learn to play more than buying new guitars. Or that money can be spent on Guitar Rig, Amplitube, or other pedals.

P.S. So..... that's really you all ripped and younger in the pic.... ????:eek: :p :p

It sounds really good, though as I was listening--in my mind--I was hearing some extended piano arpeggios leading into the chorus...the 'Summer Love" part. The organ swells that are there are good but I think the arpeggios would power into the chorus-a grand piano patch with reverb would work fine.
Just my 2 cents worth though-that strat solo sounds cool-the neck pickup I'd say?

Ant's appeg idea is a good one.
As it stands you do need to raise the vox a little Gerry. The 1st few phrases particularly as the beauty of your songs is in the vocal melody and lyric.
The backing is crucial but your selling point is the strength of melody and story.
The solo is "...as cool as" mate.
And, as Homeer would say..."mmmm, well defined bass"

Yes - it's an EC Signature Strat...Kramer Pacer on the Rhythm parts...

Yes - I was a hunk wasn't I ? Actually that's some picture from the web that I found...no idea who it is but I think DavidK said it was from a Brooke Shields movie.

I'll have to start working on my arps. I have a hard time playing chords lol....

Middle Pickup. Special Boost tone knob at 9 through a JCM900.

I'll fix that...:D

Thanks Guys! :D
