Seeing that I am a newbie myself, hopefully this is in easy to understand terms.
First of all, record on tracks 1-3 individually just what it is that you want. (leaving track 4 blank)
Second, rewind the tape back to where you started and set the controls in the following manner,
On tracks 1-3 do the following to each track, pan ALL the way to the right, set the mic-line switch to "tape", turn down the monitor control all the way to the left.
Set track 4 switch to "record" (DO NOT RECORD YET!!!)
Now...press play and adjust the volumes of tracks 1,2,&3 to your liking (using the slider controls for these tracks). Making sure not to max the meter out on number 4. (the slider control for track FOUR should be in the shaded area at this time)
Keep your eyes on the number 4 meter. This is what the "bounced" tracks will sound like.
When you have the levels to where you want them, rewind the tape to the beginning and press "Record & Play".
You will hear the music play. It is at this time those 3 tracks will ALL be sent over to the fourth track.
Remember this, you still have the original tracks on 1,2,&3
so if the "bounce" didn't turn out the way you want it, try it again.
Want to add more? While it is "bouncing" you can add more to that track at that time.
As far as the bass....I record it directly into my Tascam when I play it. (personal preference)
Good luck !
