new user getting set up

I'm new to Cubase, so this will seem very elementary to everyone else here. Mac OS X user with a simple little Edirol UA1D digital audio USB interface between my iBook and my Yamaha AW4416. Having trouble getting Cubase to locate the UA1D. Also using a Yamaha UX16 MIDI USB interface that is not being found. Both interfaces work with other software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Pull down the Devices menu and go to Device Setup, should be the last one on the bottom.

From there, you should be able to add devices such as interfaces for Cubase to recognize.
