I've got a new song on my page. It's called "Where I Come From". Just by coincedence this is the 3rd song of mine beginning with the word "Where" so don't get it confused with the other 2. This one's currently the 1st song on my page.

There are some mixdown issues, I used a different dat than last time and I could never get volume or crispness out of it. If you've heard my other stuff, this one's probably mixed and eq ed better but lacks crispness.

There's a lot of guitar work at the end of this one if you can live through the vocals to get there!

Please give a listen and feedback of any kind will be appreciated. Thanks

Ray-

Very nice. Great musicianship. Virtuotic (is that a word?) guitar solos. Nice mix. Pro rhythm section (just you, right?). I would bring up the vocal a little and also make the vocal brighter (probably an eq issue). Also, the general dynamic of the song drags a little. You want to build it more. I might build it to the killer lead in the middle of the song, then to a quieted-down verse, then build again to the finish.

Sweet, sweet guitar sounds.....something was happening on the recording at about 4:10 to 4:17, though, like a mic being shuffled or something...I don't think it was my download....

I liked the drum sound too...if they were programmed, you did good on the humanizing of the procedure....nice stuff....gibs

~~~~Smoke~~~~~~~~~
Man yer smokin that guitar to shreads Ray! I really liked the song a bunch..and Crystal Clear too, I listened to it also. Did you record these tunes like..live with your band? Cant say enough about that tone you had going on, some really great chops indeed. Drums were real right? The only thing fell short for me was I couldn't understand all the words from the vocalist, but he/you whoever is singing is really good. I'll be looking foward to hearing your next one dude..
LI Slim - Thanks for listening. Yeah, it's just me. Couldn't get a good sound out of my mic. I used the same stuff as on the other tunes but couldn't get the 'cheap' sound out. Not sure why. You're probably right about the general dynamics of the song, it begins to drag by the second verse. Thanks again.
gibs - Thanks, I assume you're talking about the chord voicings and the rythmn fills when you speak of sweet guitar sounds. Thanks. "There was something happening on the recording at 4:10-4:17" I'll have to listen closely, I've had mic shuffling sounds in my tunes before. I used a drum machine for the drums but I play it manually instead of programming. Has it's advantages and disadvantages.
Dave - I'm a solo act and play all the instruments and do the vocals. Thanks for the compliments. I do the drums on a drum machine but play it manually. The vox, yeah, a few people have told me they don't understand the words in my songs, I need to work on that. Thanks again for listening
