new tunes in need of extensive critique...pretty pleeeze!

I have four new tunes up at NoWhere. 2 of 4 have vox and other 2 simply instrumentals. They are:

Intro
Flamenco
Sixteen Bars
Get Some

I am seeking extensive critique about all of the details (even minor) that your seasoned ears may offer. Feel free to comment on both the views about the content and instrument selection as well as an all out ripping of the mix and lack thereof.

Wait...

gotta put on my....

protective geeaaaar.....

READY NOW!!!

Thanks in advance to all.

sorry...

for the BUMP...
but leaving my office for the day and thought I might need to keep this one in rotation so that it would actually be heard (songs go fast these days...).

Once again apologies for the selfish bump, but I would really love to hear some opinions and suggestions from you all...

I'll get to ya' tonight even if you're second page....gotta go.

Hey B-Mo.

I really want to hear the words to this. Thought I might have heard some good stuff. The vox in the verses are getting covered up a bit by everything else that's going on. I think you're going to need to raise the vocals and work on some EQ. That little synth part is I think causing some of the problem. It's right in the range of the vocals' presence. The low end rhythm is a bit overpowering too. (these are guesses)

The doubled vox in the chorus sound real good. Raise their levels just a little bit. The vox in the chorus are shooting through much better than the verses.

Anyway those are my thoughts. Not a big rap fan, but I don't get to hear much of it around here and it's kind of refreshing every once in a while. But rap relies heavily on lyrics in general, and those vocals need to come through here.

Hope I helped and hope that you post another mix.

"Maybe" is a great song and I don't think I could do any better. I only noticed one thing. The level on the piano melody was a little too low. I listened to it 3 times, home stereo, pc speakers and headphones, and kept coming to that same point.

Oops - forgot you had several songs posted. I reviewed Get Some. Sorry for not mentioning that.

I particulary liked the composition in the 2nd 3rd and 4th tunes. I`m not hip on the cutting the envelopes on the alternating downbeats but I realize that works for this type of genre, it just abrades me. No that its bad, I just am more into fluid rythyms. The flamenco tune is actually close to some stuff I like to jam around on. The "Herbie" on the 1st tune was cool but it was too much up front in the mix and could be used more. THe piano patch is pretty good but would be nice playing more in some of the tunes. I dont like the bass sound and the electro-drum kits. Some nice arrrangements and some pretty good mixing though.

thanks...

for all of the critiques. I really do hope to get more feedback though.

@Triple M, I always hear from you when I post and your efforts do not go unrecognized and @ Toki, thanks for the comps and critique...even got a newbie getting involved (as if I am not still a lil' wet behind the ears..)...

Anyhow, thanks to all and looking foward to any all other contributors. Would especially love to hear from some of the senior, seasoned members who have eons of mixing experience and a lot of wisdom to share.

Come out, come out wherever you are! I know you guys (and possibly gals) are out there...
