GUITARDAZE
My song "I'll Let You Drive" just won a songwritting contest up here in Utah. Check it out! I also uploaded a new video, check it out.

Anyone else around here useing the VS Roland recorders?

Nice song. I thought the mix was fairly good....the vox is a little muddy sounding....maybe too compressed. nice guitar ride......I like the transition where the drums drop out. very nice....the only real critisism I would have is the opening classical part (fur elise?) is pretty sloppy and way too choppy.

I coulda sworn...

That sounds like Guitardaze's work! :D :D

Nice.

I thought it was very good. The only thing I didn't like was the drum sounds. The intro was a very nice touch... (not fur elise, by the way Lt.. :D and that's how it's supposed to sound.. :p).

Liked Mission (except, again, the drums.. which lag a bit in the beginning BTW..)

LOL.. the beginning to "Leaving" is almost identical to Jars of Clay's "Faith like a child"... I almost found myself singing "Dear God" after the guitar break... :D do you listen to those guys..? your sounds are somewhat similar. Anywhoo.. I like this one too.. once again... the drums lacked a little...

Nice, tight drums would really make your stuff all the more better. (sort of like the drum loop on "Healed",.. that sounded pretty darn good... well.. up until 4:02. :p And do I detect a bit of autotune on that one..? :D)

Oh yeah.. and you got a really nice voice.. good male vox's are really hard to come buy... fortunately for you,.. you are one... :p

P.S. The audio sync on your video is off.

WATYF

Yeah I wasn't sure that was what it was. But are you saying it's supposed to be out of time and inconsistent? The timeing on that is definitely jumpy.

yeah... if you listen to the original arrangement it's like that.. (I think.. :p ).. it's one of those "free flowing" pieces... not so much "rhythmic" as "melodic"... but regardless... I like how he does it. It's a great guitar sound too.

P.S. That collab I talked to you aboot a while ago might be happening soon.. I'll be in touch.. :)

WATYF

Very cool song with a good hook. You have a nice voice too.........the drums are the weakest link in this song. This is definetly VH1 material.

Ooops ... entered before I could say anything ...

This is a nice song. Kind of reminds me of Dave Matthews Band with a more driving beat ...

Good guitar playing. Overall this sounds good on my machine. The drums seemed a little bit too loud to me, but it may be my machine.

Again, congrats!

Hey,
Props on the contest!

I liked the git sounds. I could have lived without the intro but, that is just me. Nice tracking all around. The vox were incoherent at times. You've a soft and airy touch on the vox so, this might happen from time to time............

Nice arrangment and execution thereof. The lyrics left something to be desired imho........

Sweet sound and an overall very solid recording!!

Peace,

Theron.

For a 25 second song it's cool. Reminds me of Blues Travelers.

I'd lengthen the song a bit, and go to a chorus maybe at some point. Or was that the chorus. If so, it needs a verse leading up to that point.

Good stuff.

Hey man. I don't even know what a VS Roland is, but I may get one (or some?) or something after listening to this.

One minor drawback. The delay on the snare sucks. It's distracting from an otherwise perfect tune.

SIDENOTE: WHATEVER LAME ASS THREW THIS SONG ONE STAR NEEDS TO IMMEDIATELY POST HIS OR HER OWN RECORDING OF ORIGINAL MATERIAL THAT THEY ARE THE MOST PROUD OF SO AS TO TEACH ALL OF US HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE.

If nothing else, I'm glad to see that somebody else has rhymed "Heaven" with "7-11" in a song. Makes me wanna' post another one of mine that'll probably get 1 star.

I don't know if you just dropped this post in order to increase your play stats on MP3 or not. I don't care. You're not obligated to hang out here. Concentrate on making more "1 star" jewels like this.

Keep writing,
-chris

we're coming out of the wood woork!

We utarns! Gonzo X, you, me, JR#97.... THERE'S TOO MANY OF US!! :D ;)

No way I could stream this on the MAC (no internet connection on the MAC ;)) so couldn't listen on monitors (the PC has a crap AUDIO card anyway) so these comments will just be made about the songwriting.

Very contemporary-rock sounding. Nice, happy, and marketable. Good job... yeah I can hear wat the Lt. said about the intro, but like WATYF said -- maybe it's supposed to sound that way...

Thumbs up, and WHERE in the "FETCH" does Emeric get 25 seconds from? :p The song is 3:34 :)

(BTW to all non-Utah people, "FETCH" is a frequently used euphemism for the big F word... mostly among Mormuns, but we un-Mormons can use it too... guess we're allowed :p)

Something's wack with my PC because it looks for a file to open when I try to stream.. anywho, I downloaded Leaving from your MP3 site. Nice stuff. Do you gig? I'm guessing you went on a mission? ;)

I'm not real big on guitars, but I liked this one. I'd agree the drums sound weak; kinda "thumpy" for lack of a better word.
Everything else is very good. Nice vocals too.

I like the video (idea) on your web-site too. Nice touch.

nice work. sounds real pro to me except the drums. i always say that about drums though so take it with salt. the snare echo was bothersome to me as well.

i was distracted by the 'Jesu' intro also. i like the way you're playing it, it sounds nice, it just distracted from the song imo.

your voice sounds great and the song sounds very radio friendly to me. best of luck with it and congrats on winning the contest.

did you get anything for winning aside from the admiration of your peers?

JR#97 do you live in Utah? I will be at Borders Books this weekend the 23rd in Provo. And I think we are playing Lumpys in Salt Lake on the 31st. Thanks for all the coments you guys. I agree with the drums. I am looking for someone who can play in the studio who is better than who I have been useing, but they are hard to come by.

Yup, I'm a Utard.. Maybe I'll catch you at Lumpy's. If you ever need an extra guitarist, your music style is right up my ally.

Thanks JR, Let me make sure on that lumpys date. I know we are playing up at the spur in Park City around that same time some let me check on the dates and I will get back to you.
