Nakatira

That Norwegian Bastard
Hi guys, this is a new tune we (my band Munchausen) made a month or so ago.

I just recently got the recording from my Drummer, so I thought I`d check with you guys on what you think about the tune.

First of this is a rehearsal take, we had just agred on how the song`s structure would be. It sounds a bit sloppy ,untight and very Floyd at times, but as I said we hadent rehearsed it that much.
Now on the ohter hand ;) :D :D

About the vox; dont ry to make anything out of the lyrics because there are non, its just me scattin and Improvising.

All in all I think the recording is of decent quality and it sorta tells the story of the tune.

Anyways here`s the link and thanks for listening.

Sounding pretty cool so far Naka's and yes it is very Floydy but that is a good thing!
Your vocal delivery is well executed, I look forward to hearing it all polished! I like the change of pace at the 4 minute mark leading into the guitar solo.

Very Kool Mr Naka's! :)

Nice improv on the vocals Naka - is this an original tune? I really like the feel of this song. For live it is especially cool. Mix is excellent.... Great guitar riffs and tones throughout. Sounds like Floyd but original too.... The change and solo at 4:00 is very sweet......that strat is screaming!

 :D  :D

Thanks mr.gortenheimer :D ...

Were gonna record an EP this winter\spring so we might go with this tune.
Its gonna be cool to hear it all polished as you said.

We might change the Bass lines wee bit to make it a bit less Floydish.

thanks Mate

Thanks Ido.

The tune is original, it was put together at a a band rehearsal, in fact this one ;)
We hadd noodeled with the riffs before, but we sorta gotta a nice structure to it, I think.

I`m really glad you liked it man, And yes Both strats were on Fire :D

I like where it's heading, Nak...Make sure and notify us as to the progress. I always like to hear your stuff. ;)

Really floydish....Is that a univibe on the guitar during the "verse"?Sounds very tasty!Wah sounds great on the lead as well!! You guys gotta tour the States man :) !!!!!
I love it!

I dont like the way the drums are recordedd. But as for the song it sounds really good so far. Once its polished its going to sound really good.

So right now I'm standing in the back of your rehearsal room listening to your band work out a tune... that's the impression it gives and it's a good one. Sounds like a stereo recording from a mic pair out in the room. I think that's a very cool thing to do... the rawness aspect. What I hear in this is intense musicianship and expression. Hell this is better performed than Beatles sessions I've heard tracks of when they were rehearsing their tunes. Keep it up dude. That you on gtr at 4:30? Damn that's good.

Thanks man, There is no escaping the floyd :D :D

The univibe effect is a Brand New Mojovibe our lead guitarist has got himself, sounds amazing.

It would be a dream to tour the states, If I ever get the chance I`m there. ;)

The drums where recorded with in a quite normal way, sm57 on snare, b52 on Kick and 2x Røde nt5 in stereo x\y I think.
I think the vox mic causes lots of spill makin it "sauchy".

Cool that you liked the tune, I hope we get to exploit its potential.

cheers mate

Hi Tim, we recorded the rehearsal, with about 8 channels, I think the vox mic makes it sound like a mic in the room recording.
The mix was done quite hastly, just so we (band members) had something to listen to.
I thought it sounded decent, so I`d play it by you guys.
Wich is allway inspiring.

Thanks for the comment on the recording, we allways with a high intesnsity level (physical movement, loud sound, sweat and tears ;) )

The lead guitar your hearing around 4,00 is not be but our eminent Guitarist.
He`s outstanding when it comes to improvasation, and he`s got a great sound and feel IMHO :)

I`ll make sure to give him the praise.

Btw I`m playing lead on the latter part Big muffish slow solo going all the way into the outro riff.

Thanks again Tim.

I don't think the Floydisms come from the bass. It's more the cleaner guitar to me.
BUT, that's only an ism - an influence worn as a cuff - not on the sleeve.
This sounds like it'll make a hot piece of proggy.
Well done.

Oh yeah that clean guitar tone in the verse is classic. Very nice. The song is just screaming with potential. Love the jammy feel to some of the parts. I recommend not polishing it too much and keep a jammy feel in there now and then. Just my opinion. Looking forward to hearing it all done :D

Lol. That main intro riff is a slowed down Black Flag riff. ;)

Sounds pretty good overall. Really good for 'live'. Good job. :)

Hey Nak, I heard this the first night you put it up and I really liked it. Once it's developped more, the feel is perfect.
The only thing I can suggest is that the vocals come in earlier...If not in the first verse, then in the second. I would start the second verse right away after the chorus, but that's just how I hear it. Nice riff...and your voice is awesome for this.

Thanks Rayc.

We`re gonna play around with the guitar arangments as well.

I sure do hope it turns proggy ;)
