New track - Produced on Fostex VF160

Hey all. just mixed a new track for my bands EP. Have no monitors at the moment so I had to do the mix with headphones, so itwill probably sound a bit different on everyones speakers. Also i'm copying the track across to the pc with a jack cable from the headphone output - so its in mono, thats the only way i can do it at the moment unfortunatly.

I'm going for a vintage recording sound, like 50s/60s. Its got a bit of a surfy vibe going on too. :)

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the song and also the production so far? also any tips on effects/mixing/EQ that kind of stuff.
 
Not bad. I like the tune. Kind of catchy. There's something about the mix though. It had a hard edge to it. It's hard to put my finger on it but something in the hi-mids need to be tamed.
 
Yeah I agree with you there. lots of boosting in the highs/mids. Maybe I should cut back a little bit with that.
