I suffer Narcoleptic Rage
I posted a track a couple months ago titled "Just so you know" which garnered alot of comments (both good and bad). A lot of that feedback has gone into the production of this tune, titled "Mother dear" I know my poor untrained ears miss alot though so I'd really appreciate any feedback on this mix (or anything else you feel like commenting about hehe)

Just click the link to get to the site, track title "Mother dear"

Much appreciated!

PS...Blue Bear, Im especially interested in what you think as you were intrumental (no pun intended) in cleaning up so much on the last track.

Sounds decent...

The drums are in front of the vocal. That's not gonna fly. That's likely due to lack of confidence...so just stop being unconfident and raise those vocals up where we can hear them and feel them.

Try a little verb on the drums to push them back a bit.

I think the rhythm guitar needs to come up about 2 or 3 dB, the vocal needs to come up about 3 or 4 dB, the lead should stay and the drum should be checked after adding a bit of ambience to it.

Just some quick thoughts. We can get more detailed of course, but I'd personally try that.

Not too bad. I liked the distorted rhythm guitar tone. Nice.

Some pitchiness to the vox in spots. In general I think they need to come up a bit.

The lead guit was a little on the piercing side. Maybe try a little cut at around 2K (or in that neighborhood). Nice reverb on it though.

Hey thanks for takin the time to listen.

Sluice, I do have some verb on the drums thru an aux, maybe not enuf! I'll definately play with it! I thought i noticed the vox seem to drop a bit in the chorus, but wasnt really sure...bad ears hehe. Havent got into automation, but sooooonnn!! Ill bump em a bit. Thanks!

TripleM, Unfortunately I couldn't pull even this vocal track off (well, prolly fortunate for you hehehe) so I had a buddy of mine do it. we make no excuses :D they are what they are.

Great ear on the lead bein too loud...I thought so too, found out I hadnt dropped it back the 5db Id raised it when I was a/b'ing the last solo...

BTW...I played hell gettin any sustain on the damn thing (you can hear it in the last solo) anybody got suggestions?

nice clean trax. The cymbals are a little too hot for me. The snare sounds good but dominant as well. Singing is cool but needs a little fader automation you mentioned in some places. A little more sustaining fat on the bass and I'm cool with it.
