For Christmas i got a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer (celeron processor) it is windows 98 and it has a DVD/CD rom player. now here is the problem and I need some solutions... #1 - it does not have a midi port.... #2 - it does not have a CD-R...
I am wanting to hook up my midi keyboard to it and record through cake walk.... can this be done and if so - HOW?? and it is my goal to make and sell my own audio cd's of songs I write and play... other equipment I own is a desk-top computer (extremely slow), a scanner, a ink jet printer, a 4-track recorder (not digital), several microphones (computer mics and a Shure condensor mic), a Kawai keyboard.....and a dual cassette/cd player.... can I do anything (studio wise) with just this amount of equipment? what all do I need and how can I put this all to the best use? want to make and sell my own cd's and cassettes... ANY info will be most appreciated... any links, any articles, etc... thanks.. StarOfSong
