New to this site. New recorded song.

Ok, So I'm new to this site but from what I've checked out this forum seems pretty awesome, you guys definitely know what your talking about, which is good because I don't.

but I wrote a quick song, recorded it, and mixed it, and I want to see what you guys think, and more importantly, if you have suggestions or critiques.

Here's what I'm working with:

I'm very new to recording, so I don't really have the knowledge or the equipment. I have one shure SM57 that recorded everything, it goes to a Boss BR-864 digital workstation thingey, and then I send that to my computer via a little Behringer interface thing. Everything goes and gets done in Reaper.


I'm no expert, but even I know that this setup is haggard.

There's either too much room or too much reverb on the tune, mainly in the beginning. If I were to change anything I would say open up the highs a bit as the guitars seem a bit cloudy. The compression seems (to me) apparent but it does give it a sense of eveness.
Enough mix stuff.... Excellent writing and playing! Smooth and cool guitars!
