Interesting tune for sure, I can see you hate your voice since it's kinda buried! Really like that wierd note that hits at the end of the verse lines, coooool :). I'd say turn up the vocals but use some compression to keep them under tight control--which you have probably done already. Good job man.

Ha like it! Interesting and unique. You could lift the vocals a little. There's nothing wrong with them. You just have to try and accept that other people won't hate them like you do. Mix is pretty good, from what I can tell on my crappy speakers. Drums are in a good place. Nice changeups and great arrangement overall. For a first song, you'd have to be happy with this. Good job

Cool thanks for the input. I'll remix it and turn the vocals up.
I have been working on for to long and getting tired of listening to it, just want it to be done.
I appreciate your guys feedback.

This was a fun listen...interesting arrangement. I could see someone agonizing for a while over a mix like this as it gets pretty busy at times. I think you've done well and I have little advice to offer but I do appreciate the inventiveness and think you should be happy for a first effort in your new studio.

great first song!

I have a problem with my own vocals even though many here have compared me to Jeff Buckley crossed with Robert Plant :laughings:

joking aside the best way to get over your vocal unsurety (is that a word?) is to do a mix around them...stick them up first then mix the instruments around them...I can guarantee you they'll sound better to you if they sit in the mix properly first...

watch the muddiness, you need to keep the bass frequencies between 250 to 800 Hz in check...in fact this is around the frequencies where most instruments can cause muddiness...it will affect the clarity of your recording...carve out a little room for each of the instruments here...even when it seems easier with synths

keep up the good work...

Interesting and creative. The vocals are an important part of songs with vocals so make sure you can hear them.

I wish the song I first recorded on my home studio sounded this good!

Another vote for you to bring up the vocals - from what I hear your voice is fine.

I liked to hear (taste) the step synth off centre (L maybe) to off-set against the guitar rift during the vs.

Great dist guitar sound - big!

I like the sort of brake down (Mid-8/Bridge?) is that a dog barking? Maybe it needs another sonic element or just greater separation to make it distinct from both the Ch and Vs arrangement

Enjoyed it - could hear it on sound track of quirky video game

I remixed it and did what kcearl said by mixing the instrument volumes to the vocals, I also panned a few things around.
I'm very happy with the turn out and the mix of it.
I spent to much time on it and I'm glad that its getting positive feedback, so the time was worth it.

Thanks for the replies everyone I appreciate it.

Not bad. It gets pretty muddy when the distorted guitar comes in and during the double-kick breakdown. The bass and kick turn into a mush of low end with no clarity. Other than that, not too shabby.

great....I hope you can hear how your voice is pretty good when mixed right....to be honest its best to start with drums, then the bass, then the vocals, then everything else imo...but as an exercise mix around your vocals if you think they sound bad

9 times out of 10 its because youre not mixing them right

keep posting your stuff, listen to others tracks and offer your 2cents...the guys here will keep you right..they sure help me :)
