I am building a small home recording studio probably based around relatively powerful mac (any suggestions?) anyways,
I want the ability to record electric guitar and vocals.
Now for my guitar I have heard that it is possible to use it as MIDI input device with the right equipment,(but whats the quality).
Now with vocals, among other things I will need some type of pre amp.
Since I may need to record my electric guitar and maybe other instruments with mic`s, can I get some type of device that could be used for everything?
And like I said I don't know too much about recording, But if I have 2 sound cards then I assume that most software will allow me to record something while playing back the other tracks, as each track would be recorded separately. That is to say I want to record one track at a time (no live band performance recording).
Oh yea and what type of sound card(s), should I stick with 16 bit or go for 24?
Sorry I couldn't be more specific but any general info to get me going will do.
Keep in mind I am new to this whole thing and am not sure what all of
the equipment does, and at this point I just researching.
Thanx.
