New to Pro Tools - MP9 virtual instrument help

Hello - I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but I am new to Pro Tools. I just installed MP9 (Windows 7, using M Audio interface which is required)- I cannot find any way to bring up the virtual instruments. I seem to be missing this, as well as many of the plug-ins that come with this bundle. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
 
virtual instruments go on an instrument track.

When you make a new track, select instrument instead of audio, then your virtual instruments will show up in your plugins menu when you try to add an insert.

Some plugs are mono only or stereo only too, so that might have something to do with it.
