I'm just getting into the world of MIDI. I have a Casio CZ230S which has midi capabiltiies. It's about 13 years old. Is there compatibility problems with older syths? I'm mostly interested in using it as a controller for software syths in Cubase on a new G4. Also, I'm considering getting a USB interface (midiman, steinberg...) but heard they're not too good especially with latency. Also heard there's huge problems with the USB interfaces on the new macs with gigabit ethernet. Please help. Cheers!

Hi manny, If your Casio still works, it will work.
I dont do macs, so no info there, but
a USB port on PC should be fine with midi.
Its AUDIO that has the problems with USB,
and midi and audio are way different.

you might get a midi to joystick connector, if
you want to save a few bucks (and, if Macs
work that way!!!!!!!!).David
