So I'm taking a step forward with my 10 yrs of guitar playing and decided to build a home studio for my music. I'm a Solo artist and i mainly play acoustic folk/country/classic rock. I grew up with my dad having a fairly large home studio in our basement. I'm not new to recording but i'm no professional. I picked up a Boss BR-8 Recording Studio, which my dad pointed out does not have phatom power to power a condenser mic. here's where my question is... what are my options in powering a Condenser mic? some sort of power source?

plz help.

you can also look into the possibility of preamps.

Do you have any money to spend, or are you after the cheapest solution?

A preamp, either single or multichannel (even though your Boss machine has them) could be a better longer term investment than a phantom power box if you're really going to get into recording.

I wonder what percentage of "I'm new here and I have a question" questions are about phantom power? I know mine was...

Thank you guyz. I guess if i would have snoop'd around a little more i would have found it.

I'm guessing Phantom Power is a common question?

Totally agree. I'd check out an AudioBuddy, or even better a DMP3 from MAudio
