4got to turn off the local from the keyboard....
the other pblm is....when i make a beat with the keyboard and fruityloops... it comes as a diff sound when i play it..

I like Steven Slate Drums for any "band" drums. What style of music are you looking to make?

Something to do with midi mapping. You are registered user ? Jump in the FL Studio forum.
The pattern editor in FL is childs play. Just experiment with it. Then when you get confident you can pull the pattern into the piano roll and tweak variables. You can search "making beats on flstudio" on youtube.

yeah FL is a plenty good place to be starting on, you dont need new software you need to learn what you've got I think

FL has the step sequencer <-this is the weapon that others don't have and thats why i haven't move to cubase or reaper(okay, I record in cubase

so my advice is to:
1) dump the casio, this thing is bad UNLESS you are going to make cheap one man band.
2) search for some samples, soundfonts and VST plugins on internet.
3) load them into FL and start making beats already!

I tried to use Sonar once when it came with my interface I think... but I couldn't get it to work for unknown reasons.
..oh. right. Reason has a step sequencer too.
maybe I should try Sonar again.

The Cubase that I bought in 1989 and every one since has had a step sequencer if we are talking about the same thing - a grid where you can enter beats in steps, painting the notes in.
You'd probably have to look for a long time to find a music recording app that doesn't, that's a pretty basic thing.

What version of Cubase are you on?
In Cubase 4 and SX3 they have a Drum Edit mode, I never use it but on page 302 of the manual for Cubase 4 it tells you how to step edit.
I just checked Cubase LE and did not see Drum Edit though, maybe that's why you don't have it.

oh right, the drum edit mode...
have even used it twice, but it's really uncomfortable to work with.
Cubase 5 btw.

You know I've never used it until I just checked it out today and to me it did look awkward.
But... and it's a Big Butt...
There's a chance that it could be tweaked to be a lot better. You can assign keys to things and rearrange things quite a bit so it could take that. For starters, they've got every note in there and you don't need vibra slap there all the time. So it might be a matter of messing with it.
Myself I like laying down drum parts in Cubase from my MIDI keyboard, I find it faster.

i cant dump casio... thats all i have to work on my beats with FL.... and where can i find some VST ? and one more question... have any of you guys now a software called DuBturbo?

To speak from experience what has worked best for me is the following.
Reason 5 and Ableton Live 7.1
And I have 2 midi controllers which I find to be really good and have made my life so much easier.
1. The m-Audio oxygen 61. Has sliders and knobs and is so easy to use, it cost me $219 Plus tax.
2. The Korg PadKontrol is awesome. I give that thing a beating and it has worked for me for over a year. I got it on sale for $149. Plus tax.
You can't go wrong with this combination and it is relatively affordable.
