i need some information how to start making beats from the scratch..

a good start i have pc, some beatmaking softwares such as music creator 5,fruityloops studio 9.

please i need some info on what kind of keyboard i need

regards

well for making beats id choose a keyboard with pads...like an axiom or something

but to be honest a seperate set of pads would be a good idea

m audio trigger
Korg pad control
Korg nano pad
Akia mpd16
akia mpd24
akia LPD8

all of these would do, they have different sizes and specifications...look them up..

btw check your local c'list these are always turning up for cheap as many folks just end up painting beats in on the piano roll...or in FL9s case its just your mouse in the sequencer

Also using Ableton Live is great software for loops and editing loops easily.

i found a keyboard 61 keys CTK-2000 it does have usb to conect to pc... will it do to make beats with softwares?

The M-Audio Axiom Series or the Akai MPK Series are also a nice option as that you get the pads and some keys ranging from 25 to 49 to 61, Plus you get some controls like faders and knobs. Always a nice extra.

And they have deeper MIDI editing options than some keyboard controllers as well.

This is how I do it....

I get a microphone close to my mouth and record: boom da chhhh da boom boom chhhh....boom da chhhhhh da boom boom chhhhh

That kind of thing...just laying down my beats...

Then I look at the audio wave from that recording and I just put a kick drum on the boom and a snare on the chhhhh....etc.

That's how I make my beats from scratch

i got a Casio CTK2000 keyboard 61 keys it does conect with usb... but it dosent work with anysoftware

yes it does...that model carries midi through its USB...give Casio's support a call and ask them to talk you through it, you just dont have it midi synced on the keyboard or in the softwares preferences

It does work with any midi-supporting software. A friend left his in my apartment a few days ago and it works for me.

Plug it in and turn it on. Windows should automatically install the drivers. Next, open your audio software and find where ever its MIDI settings are and enable the keyboard.

If you are using FL Studio (fruity loops), go to OPTIONS -> MIDI settings [or press F10]. In the box for input, click on your MIDI device and check Enable under the box. If you don't see your device, click "Rescan MIDI devices." If you still don't, make sure it is plugged in and turned on. If it still isn't there... Then I don't know what to do.

I personally use an old keyboard from the mid '90s and a $5 MIDI interface from Hong Kong that I got eBay.

we have saved the world from another unwanted midi controller well done, take the rest of the day off :D

native instruments maschine is the dopest. I use it, it comes with almost 7 gigs of sounds pre-loaded, you can sample from vinyl, chop up samples, edit the shit out of them, its got effects, midi instruments built in.

The trig finger blows, go with the Mpd 24.

Use maschine for drums/patterns, then get a midi controller keyboard for some midi sound banks.

when i connect it to fruity-loops... i find it as midi audio.... but then when i try to make beats with it... it only plays the sound from the keyboard not the sound from the fruity-loops....

I don't know why it's not making sounds in fruity loops. You do know that the instruments in FL Studio will come out of your computer speakers like they usually do instead of the keyboard speakers, right?

Actually, I just thought of something: Is fruity loops making any sound for you at all? If other programs that use sound are open (even web browsers), they can stop fruity loops from using your sound card. If that is the problem, try closing everything before opening it.

Usually I plug in headphones or something on the keyboard to make it stop making sounds.

FINALLY i connect it with FL.....

now the pblm is....i can hear the sounds of the beats from the loopy when i play a drum... but at the same time i hear the sound of the keys from the keyboards... how can i stop that?

casio>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> yamaha

OH NO!!!! EPIC FAIL!!!!!

YAMAHA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CASIO

I mis-typed that. Yamaha has much better overall sounds as well as MUCH LOUDER speakers with better base response..... and they look cooler ;)
