new to mac

just got a mac...

I'm currently playing some aiff files through itunes... I'm wondering if itunes adds anything to the files.... anything such as eq etc... or, are the files being playing as they are.... just a clean play?

maybe this is a wanker question, but heck... it's just a concern.

Open the equalizer window. If it is turned on, it is modifying the sound. If it is unchecked, it isn't.

also check the iTunes playback preferences and make sure Sound Enhancer and Sound Check are turned off for accurate playback. Sound Enhancer especially, though. They should call it "sound crappifier"
