US Recording Media Dumping Quantegy before having another tape brand in place is unprofessional, to say the least. IMO, it’s a slap in the face after all we’ve been through just last year with tape shortages.
Check out Edgewise for future Quantegy needs. The prices are better than US Recording prices were. Of course most vendors had better prices than USR.
In late 2004 before the tape crisis, ½” 456 at USR was $44.97. Yet the best going rate at other web stores was around $36.00.
Most recently in March of 2006, ½” 456 at USR was $59.97, but ranged between $44.00 – $49.00 everywhere else (not counting Musicians “Friend” who don’t seem to realize the tape crisis is over).
Anyway, here’s a press release about Edgewise and a link to the product:

And Pro Tape Systems

All of these are new sources, not on my old list.
