New Tapco (Mackie) S5 or S8 budget monitors?

Just wondering if anyone's had the chance to use these puppies.
They're small and cheap, boasting some good recent mag reviews, but I've yet to see them mentioned in anyone's posts here. Please do share any experience with them.

I tested the S5's at a store against the Alesis M1 Active MK2's, M-Audio BX8's, Behringer Truths, and Event TR8's, and it sounded better than all of them. So I ordered a pair of the S8's which should be even better. I'll post again when they arrive.

The S8's sound great, but the KRK RP8's sound better. Both the S8s and RPs are the best thing under $1000.00. I listened to about everything on your list and narrowed it down to the two. I choose the KRK's over the mackies because they sounded more true. The mackies seemed to have a slight high/low boost which made them sound great but could blurr what you hear when mixing.
