Still got more soundcheck to go up, caulking to do, material to find for the soffits, doors to make for the storage under the soffitsand a few other bits and pecies. After that the cupboard in the back of the room gets extended and converted to an iso booth...work work work

6 days and £200 spent on materials

I'll post more pictures as this thing progresses

That looks very nice so far. The only question I guess I have is regarding the height of the speakers in the soffits. They seem a little bit low to me. Rationale?

Otherwise, I think you are doing a great job with it. Keep the progress posted.

Darryl.....

I have the centre of the cones at ear level. Any higher and I'd have had to tilt them downwards which would have ment sloping the face of the soffit frame.

Maybe they look low because of the height of the shelf front I have the dual displays mounted on..... I had to raise them so I could see the meter bridge on the desk

thanks for the comments

Looking very nice, indeed.

I like the dual monitor setup (would love to do it in my place but lack the $$ for LCD's which is the only way I could do it).

Are you putting some shelving up above the monitors, then? Looks like a good place for some storage to me (never have enough!!).

How does it sound now with the speakers in the stuffed soffits?

The bottom end is a hell of a lot tighter and the mids are more defined. I'm definately hearing things I didn't hear before which is always good.

I also noticed how bad my older mixes were compared to comercial CDs :o
Can't wait till pay day to start on the back of the room

just finished studio

here's some pic

LemonTree, digs are looking pretty good. Are these the latest pics, or did I miss a post?
